Laurel

L A U R E L

Small tree, very ornamental. Evergreen, alternate leaves, clearly divided by a central nerve, are dark green and bright in the beam and lighter on the underside. The flowers are white or yellowish and are grouped in the leaf axils (where the leaves join the stem). The fruit looks like a small olive and is black. When breaking the leaves, they give off a fragrant and characteristic aroma, very pleasant.

It goes very well with vegetables, pork, lamb, fish and game.

Add laurel to soups, stews, stews and marinades. You can also add whole twigs to the casseroles to give it more flavor.
